The Photocoop Intern Guidelines & Expectations
Studio Access
Interns are allotted 8 hours/month of personal studio time, same as staff.
Access includes weekdays and weekends; must be scheduled in advance on the studio calendar.
Studio hours do not count against member hours.
Access includes setup and cleanup time.
Priority: Paid shoots always take priority over intern bookings.
Coaching & Development
Interns have unlimited coaching hours with staff photographers.
Coaching sessions are scheduled in advance and tracked.
Responsibilities & Expectations
Shooting Requirement: Interns must shoot at least 2 times per month and provide a moodboard for each shoot.
Event Participation: Interns must attend all Photocoop events, assisting with setup, cleanup, and general support.
Annual Show: Each intern must participate in at least one annual studio show.
Assist with studio operations, including:
Equipment setup and teardown
Supporting paid shoots or workshops as needed
Maintaining studio cleanliness and organization
Be punctual, professional, and respectful of all staff, members, and guests.
Communicate scheduling needs in advance and respect booking priority rules.
Additional Perks
Access to workshops, critiques, and member events at discounted rates (if applicable)
Participation in the Photocoop Discord community for support and networking
General Rules
All studio bookings must include setup and cleanup time.
Interns must respect the caps and priority rules for members, staff, and paid shoots.
Studio hours may not be transferred or shared.
